Who has never heard of God and the devil? God has been present since the creation of the universe God is still presented in the book of Genesis as the creator of the universe. Even in the first chapters we see an organized God that every day creates something that we know today as the universe and everything that exists in it.
God is the one who creates, but who was not created. God presents himself in the Holy Bible as the father, the son and the Holy Spirit.
At one point in history, someone called Lucifer appeared. He was born not to be the devil, but to be a cherub, but he wanted to be worshiped as God. Lucifer was banished from the heavens to a place called hell.
Here we begin our study today where we will reflect, but after all who have we chosen to serve?
Joshua 24:14-16 – Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the river and in Egypt, and serve the LORD.
But if it seems evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve; whether to the gods which your fathers served, which were beyond the river, or to the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Then the people answered, and said, Let it never happen to us that we forsake the Lord to serve other gods;
Who is God
God presents himself as the creator and controller of everything in the universe. When he begins the process of creation, God has blessed everything. God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Who Created God? No one created it, even before the foundation of the world God already existed.
Deuteronomy 32:4 – He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. It is faithful God, who does not make mistakes; just and upright he is.
Who is the devil?
Many know him as the devil, but Lucifer was a cherub created by God, before his fall Lucifer was a powerful and beautiful angel, known for his light.
Ezekiel 28:13,14 – You were in Eden, the garden of God; your covering was of every precious stone: sardonyx, topaz, diamond, turquoise, onyx, jasper, sapphire, carbuncle, emerald, and gold; in you were made your drums and your fifes; on the day you were created were prepared. You were the cherub, anointed to cover, and I established you; you were on the holy mountain of God, you walked among the fiery stones.
His garments were bedecked with every precious stone and all carefully crafted for Lucifer upon the purest gold. They were given to him the day he was created. Lucifer was anointed as guardian cherub and had access to the holy mountain of God and walked among the glittering stones.
This cherub wanted to be greater than God, and in his heart he wanted to attack God’s authority by taking his place, this was very serious, and for that, he was punished. From a cherub anointed by God, Lucifer was the creator of a rebellion where he managed to gather on his side a third of the angels that were in heaven.
Isaiah 14:12-15 – How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, thou that didst weaken the nations!
And thou saidst in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, and I will sit on the mount of the congregation, on the sides of the north.
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, and I will be like the Most High.
And yet you will be taken to hell, to the depths of the abyss.
Lucifer’s heart swelled with pride because of his beauty. His wisdom was corrupted by his splendor, and so God threw him to the earth.
How does God enter into human life?
Revelation 3:20 – Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if anyone hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
“Pay attention! I am at the door and I knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and, together, we will have a meal, as friends.
How the devil enters the human being’s life
Matthew 12:43-45 – And, when the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.
says, I will return to my house from which I came. And when he returns, he finds it unoccupied, swept and decorated.
Then, and he takes with him seven other spirits worse than himself, and entering, they dwell there; and the last acts of this man are worse than the first. So will it also be with this evil generation.
The life of man consists of only two forms, either we serve God, or we serve the devil. The human being can choose to obey God, obeying and following his word, or live in a life without commitment to God and living according to his own wills and pleasures.
What is God’s purpose
Matthew 18:14 – In the same way your Father who is in heaven does not want any of these to Kenyans get lost”.
Man, and even after his fall in the Garden of Eden God still wants man to come and save. God is not happy that man does not go to hell, but man’s choices lead him to hell because his choices are often contrary to God’s will.
What is the devil’s purpose
1 Peter 5:8 – Be sober; watch; for your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour;
Every day the devil wants to take someone to hell. The enemy induces people in different ways to leave the presence of God. And when we are out of the will of God the word and God says there is only one word: Matthew 25:41 – “Then he will say to those on his left hand, ‘Cursed, depart from me into everlasting fire, prepared to the Devil and his angels.
God promises man to live eternally in a place of peace and happiness, where the old things have passed away. The devil wants man to live here in false happiness, enjoying here all the pleasures and desires of the flesh , because what awaits man is an eternity where the fire never goes out and the animal never dies.
