The apostle John wrote in his first letter, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). What did John mean by this?

John was saying and teaching us how powerful and liberating the truth is. The truth gives us the freedom to be who God created us to be, namely, free. The truth gives us the freedom to love God and our neighbor, it gives us the freedom to serve others and to live an abundant life.

The truth frees us from fear, anxiety, depression, anger, guilt and all other negative feelings. The truth frees us to love and be loved. Frees us to be happy.

 Jesus is the truth:

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Jesus is the truth and He will set us free. If you are looking for the truth then you need to follow Jesus. He is the way of truth and life.

The truth will set us free from the bondage of sin:

The apostle Paul wrote: “Therefore, hold fast to this freedom, for Christ has truly set us free. Do not submit again to the bondage of the law.” (Galatians 5:1). The truth will set us free from the bondage of sin. If you are looking for the truth in Jesus, be assured that you will be delivered from sin.

The truth will set us free from anxiety, depression and fear:

In Philippians it is written: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians 4:6 ). The truth will free us from anxiety.

In Hebrews it is written: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope; for faithful is he who promised.” (Hebrews 10:23). The truth will free us from depression.

The apostle John leaves us the record: “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last; I am alive and I was dead, but behold, I am alive forever and ever. Amen. And I have the keys of death and hell.” (Revelation 1:17,18). The truth will set us free from fear.

The apostle John further said, “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10). The truth will set us free to love.

The truth will set us free to serve:

The apostle Paul said, There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has punishment with it, and he who fears is not perfect in love.(1 John 4:18). The truth will set us free to serve.

The truth will set us free to live an abundant life:

The apostle John further said:And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding, that we might know the true One; and in what is true we are, that is, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.′′ (1 John 5:20). The truth will set us free to live an abundant life.

The bible is the word of God and it is the truth. The bible teaches us the truth about God, the world and ourselves. The bible teaches us the truth about sin, about salvation and about eternal life. The bible is the truth and it will set us free and lead us to heaven. If we are looking for the truth then we need to read the bible.

The truth is powerful and liberating. It frees us from fear, anxiety, depression, anger, guilt and all other negative feelings. The truth frees us to love and be loved and to reach the true happiness that we can only find in Jesus Christ.

We need to follow Jesus Christ, for he alone is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ has the power to free us from the bondage of sin. He will free us from anxiety, depression, fear.

If you are looking for the truth, Jesus will set you free, for He is the truth and the life. Jesus is the truth that heals, that frees, that transforms and renews the human being.

You will know the truth and the truth will set you free:

The verse is saying that if you know the truth, it will set you free. The truth is what frees us from ignorance and the bondage of the ego. It is knowledge that leads us to spiritual freedom.

“You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)

The truth is the knowledge that frees us from all the illusions and lies that keep us imprisoned, frees us from ignorance and leads us to spiritual freedom.

“Then said Jesus, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself, but speak just as the Father taught me.” (John 8:28)

“Let your word be: Yes, yes; No, no; for what is more than these, comes from the evil one.” (Matthew 5:37)

The truth is what frees us from the lie and from falsehood and is the path that leads us to wisdom.

If Christ truly sets you free, you will be free.

Jesus said: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

Jesus is the only truth. There is no truth outside of Jesus. If you want to know the truth, then you must follow Jesus.

If Christ truly sets you free, you will be free. You would no longer be slaves to sin; rather, you would follow God with all your heart, and do what He wants.

We understand that Christ is our freedom and has freed us from the power of sin, thus giving us new life.

Following Christ means walking and living in freedom. Walking in freedom means walking in the light, as opposed to the darkness of sin.
