God created hell to punish Satan and his followers. It is a place of eternal torment, reserved for those who live in opposition to God’s will. However, it is not God’s desire for humanity to face this place of suffering.
Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’ (Ezekiel 33:11)
God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, as their destiny is hell, which grieves His heart. When the wicked turn from their evil ways, the Lord rejoices, for that soul will not only live on earth but will dwell eternally in glory with Him.
The Preciousness of the Death of the Righteous
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. (Psalm 116:15)
The death of the righteous is invaluable to God, as it marks their liberation from all evil. It is the moment when the faithful are triumphantly ushered from this earthly life to heaven, where they will be face to face with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Hell: A Real Place
Yes, hell exists! The Bible describes this place with great clarity, outlining its nature and purpose.
A Place of Weeping and Torment
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. (Luke 13:28)
Hell is a place of intense suffering, marked by anguish and despair.
An Unquenchable Fire
If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched—where ‘their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’ And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched—where ‘their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’ And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire—where ‘their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’ For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt. (Mark 9:43-49)
Hell is depicted as a place of eternal torment, where suffering never ceases.
The Destiny of Those Who Reject God
The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. (Psalm 9:17)
Those who turn away from God and persist in sin will face this fate.
The View of Heaven from Hell
And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. (Luke 16:23)
From hell, the glory of heaven can be glimpsed, but from heaven, the sorrow of hell cannot be seen, underscoring the eternal separation between the saved and the condemned.
Jesus Christ: The Savior from Hell
Jesus came to deliver humanity from hell and death. The original sin separated mankind from God’s glory, but Christ brought redemption.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
God loved the world so deeply that He sent His only Son so that, through faith, we might receive eternal life. Believing in Jesus means obeying His commandments and living according to His word.
The Choice Between Life and Condemnation
God’s mercy and love are available to all who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. By forsaking sinful ways and following God’s will, we are delivered from the condemnation of hell and made heirs of heaven.
For great is Your mercy toward me, and You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. (Psalm 86:13)
The enemy works tirelessly to drag countless souls to hell through the works of the flesh, which prevent inheritance of the Kingdom of God.
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)
The Path of the Fruit of the Spirit
To inherit the Kingdom of God, we must produce the fruit of the Spirit, living in holiness and obedience.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. (Galatians 5:22-26)
Every act of disobedience distances us from God’s glory and draws us closer to hell. The enemy, like a roaring lion, seeks to devour souls. Therefore, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, produce the fruit of the Spirit, abandon sinful practices, and let Him guide your life completely.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
Conclusion: Choose Eternal Life
Each act of disobedience risks pulling us away from God. But by drawing near to Him through Jesus, our soul is saved from the fire of hell and assured eternal life. Choose the path of salvation today!
