The Lord’s Prayer is our model prayer and we can use it when we speak to God. In our prayers we also deliver to you our needs, our petitions, but mainly we thank you for all that the Lord God has done to us.
How to say a prayer?
The Bible gives us the model of prayer left by the Lord Jesus himself, which is the prayer of the Our Father.
Our Father Prayer
Matthew 6:9-13
- Therefore ye shall pray thus: Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
- Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven;
- Give us this day our daily bread;
- And forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors;
- And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forevermore. Amen.
The master is ready to answer the prayers of his servants.
Psalm 102:17 – He will answer the prayer of the helpless, and will not despise their prayer.
Prayer has the power to heal the sick, comfort hearts, bless, release, renew, transform, and fill with the Holy Spirit.
Prayer is effective when it is done in faith, for when we ask in faith and believe that God is hearing us, and that He will answer us, our prayers are answered and we see the power of God being manifested.
The prayer can be answered on the spot, or it can take some time for it to be answered. The important thing is to cry out and pray in faith and wait for God’s time to be answered.
The prayer doesn’t have to be exactly the same, we can seek God with total respect, but as if we were talking to Him.
Exposing our weaknesses, needs, what bothers us, expressing to him how dependent we are and asking Him to come take care of our lives and dreams. It is important that we come to thank and magnify God in our prayers.
Note the pattern of prayer you can pray:
Beginning of the prayer: “Lord Eternal Sovereign God!”
Acknowledgments: Lord, I want to thank you for life, for my family, for my friends, for the food you gave us.
Request: I come here to ask you, that the Lord bless my family, keep my friends and family wherever they are.
I beg You to keep my house, Lord take my job in your hands, Lord keep my life, deliver me from all harm.
I want to feel more of your presence, have more intimacy with you, pour your glory, your grace on my life, because I am entirely dependent on you for your presence.
Lord, do in me according to your will and your will.
End of prayer: That’s what I ask of you and I thank you in the name of Jesus amen!
May we take this word of faith to those who have not yet met God.
