What does faith mean? According to the dictionary, Faith is a word that means “trust”, “belief”, “credibility”. Faith is a feeling of total belief in something or someone, even though there is no evidence to prove the truth of the proposition in question.

But after all what is faith in the bible? In Hebrews 11:1,2 Now faith is the sure foundation of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. Because through her the ancients gained witness.

Faith is the firm foundation and proof, that is, faith underpins our belief and makes us have an attitude contrary to doubts. To have faith in God is to believe in his existence and in his omniscience. Faith makes us see spiritual things become real, for when we believe in God in such a way that there is no room for doubt, his spiritual power becomes visible.

Faith has the power to bring into existence what does not exist, it has the power to bring healing, deliverance, faith has the power to perform great miracles, signs and wonders.

Miracles that occurred in the bible through faith

Faith comes by hearing

Romans 10:17 – So faith is by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

What the verse of Romans 10:17 is saying is that faith is born when we hear about God, and that is called a gift; Ephesians 2:8 – For by grace you are saved, through faith; and this does not come from you, it is the gift of God.

When we hear the ministry of the Gospel, God at that very moment is offering us this gift free of charge, and for this reason the preaching of the gospel is extremely important, because through them other people may not only know, but believe and reach salvation.

Unfortunately not all those who hear believe in the preaching of this genuine gospel, as many refuse to believe in God, and refuse to obey His word, keep His commandments and live a life in holiness.

The righteous will live by faith

The word of God teaches us that the righteous must live in this world through their faith in God. This faith described here, signifies firm trust in God and in the righteousness of his ways, is a personal loyalty to Him as Savior and Lord. and also the moral perseverance to follow his ways.

To live in this world and face any and all difficulties, we need to be firm in God through Faith. The word of God teaches that our faith must be like a mustard seed, that is, it starts small but grows and develops along the way Christian.

The types of faith

Natural faith. When we talk about the natural Faith, we are talking about the man who is born believing in something. The fact that someone believes that something he has not seen will come true, such as the hope of a better day, already means natural faith.

Saving Faith. Saving faith is that which leads man to have intimacy with God. Faith makes man believe that God exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
