Mark 12:30,31 – You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Jesus is love and wants us to come to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Have we started asking ourselves what love is? The word love is a masculine noun, an affective feeling that makes a person want the good of another.
Love is contained in the Holy Bible, and it is the basis of everything, because first we must love God above all things, then we must love our neighbor as ourselves.
Mark 12:30,31 – You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength; this is the first commandment.
And the second, similar to this, is: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.
The first commandment described in Mark 12:30 is really impressive, as we see the Lord Jesus teaching us how to love God.
There are four elements that Jesus highlights, because we must love God with our heart, with our soul, with our mind and with all our strength.

Every Christian must keep in mind that those who truly love God are also willing to share in suffering for His sake, and must live for God’s work, fulfilling the standards of Righteousness on earth, and promoting the kingdom of heaven.

God wants us to have a sincere, pure, and totally inspired love for us. The same way He gave His only son so that we could have eternal life.
When we love God above all things, a personal bond involving faithfulness and loyalty to God is generated in us. Unshakeable faith is also generated, a faith that binds us to God through Christ. Fidelity to the fulfillment of promises and commitments to God is also generated in the Christian.
We become devout and adhere to God’s standards and principles even though we are in a world that rejects us. And finally we look forward to your presence and communion.
Mark 12:31 – And the second, similar to this one, is: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.
Love of neighbor is the second commandment.
We come to the main point of the second commandment. This is to love our neighbor as ourselves. First of all we must ask ourselves if we are capable of loving ourselves?
For what God teaches us is that when we love our neighbor as ourselves, we want for our neighbor the same things we want for ourselves. We love those around us the same way we love ourselves.
The Christian’s love for his neighbor, for his brother in Christ, and for his enemy, must be subordinated, controlled, and directed by his love and devotion to God.
